Artist Visits J. E. Terry Elementary

Charles Tortorici visited our school on May 5th and 12th as part of the Alabama Black Belt Arts Initiative.  He held two performances in which he sang his original songs about the environment and Alabama.  Students in grades 3-6 were able to participate in two of the activities that Mr. Tortorici does at art festivals: "Collage Word Art" and Shakespeare's Nouns".  In addition, he held a professional development for teachers in which he shared ideas and activities that can be incorporated across the curriculum.
