Procedures for Mrs. Limbaugh’s first grade class…
Morning Routine
1. Come in the room quietly.
2. Turn in money for snack.
3. Turn in homework, homework contract, lunch money, notes from home, etc.
4. Put coats, backpacks, and materials away.
5. Get a sharpened pencil or ask the teacher to sharpen your pencil.
6. Go to breakfast if you choose.
7. Begin assignment.
If you finish work early..
1. Check over your work.
2. Sit at desk and read.
3. Write in your journal.
4. Study something.
5. Write a letter to a friend.
6. Draw a picture.
When we have a visitor...
1. Keep the room quiet.
2. Stay in your seat.
3. Continue working on assignment.
4. Check over your work.
5. Read something from your desk.
6. Write a letter to a friend if you have finished all work.
7. Do not interrupt the teacher until she finishes talking with the visitor.
Instruction Time
1. Sit attentively with eyes on teacher, hands in lap, straight in desk, and quiet.
2. Have book, pencil, or other needed material on desk.
3. Listen carefully to and follow directions.
4. Do your best work. Try! Try! Try!
5. Ask sensible questions at an appropriate time.
6. Sharpen pencils at appropriate time.
Group Time Procedures
1. Work quietly in your group.
2. Do assigned task neatly and promptly.
3. Raise your hand for questions (ask a friend first).
4. You know what to do if you finish your work early.
Center Time Procedures
1. Keep quiet in centers.
2. Put all center materials back where they belong.
3. If something breaks, or tears up, tell the teacher so she can fix it.
Announcements Made From Office
1.When announcements are made from the office......Freeze!
2. Be quiet and be still so that the teacher can hear the announcement from the office.
End of Day Procedures
1. Clean up in and around your desk. Turn in your pencils to the teacher if they need to be sharpened for the next day.
2. Get all materials ready for home. (The teacher will always tell you what to pack up.)
3. Keep room quiet.
4. Stay in your seat until the teacher dismisses class.
5. Push chairs gently under desks.
6. Walk quietly down the hall on the right side.
7. Keep hands behind back when walking down the hall. (It makes you look so nice.)
