Acceptable Use Policy

 for J. E. Terry Computer Lab

These rules are applicable for all students using the J. E. Terry Elementary School Computer Lab.

Keep headphones off during instruction time.

Do not bang on the keyboard or the mouse.

Carefully close the CD-Rom door - Do not force it.

Do not touch or tamper with cords and plug-ins.

Make sure your hands are clean before using the computer.

Do not play music in the background.

Do not move computer games to another computer.

Only go to sites where you have been directed.

Do not personalize the computers in the following manner:

• Installing screen savers from the Internet
• Changing the desktop background
• Changing the video and audio settings
• Adding, changing or moving icons on the desktop

As a courtesy to the next class, please leave your lab as you found it:

• All programs closed and desktop returned to the blue screen
• Chair pushed in
• Headphones hung on the table on the left side of the monitor

YOU MAY BE SUSPENDED FROM THE COMPUTER FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR IF YOU DO ANY OF THE FOLLOWING. MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT DO ANY OF THE ACTIVITIES BELOW. THESE ARE RULES OF THE AUP FOR THE DALLAS COUNTY SCHOOLS.

Do not accept or buy anything on the internet.
Do not download anything on the internet unless directed to do so.
Do not go into chat rooms.
Do not go to email sites.
