Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act

J. E. Terry Elementary is in complete compliance with all aspects of the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA). AHERA was passed in 1986 to address the health problems posed by asbestos products in school buildings. We have taken actions to correct whatever problems that were discovered. All friable asbestos containing materials have been removed from all buildings.

If you wish to view the school’s AHERA plan it is available at the school office during regular school hours. If you have any other questions concerning AHERA you may contact the Dallas County School System’s AHERA Designee. This can be accomplished by calling the Central Office during regular office hours at 875-3440.
